Third-parties should NOT be filling out applications on someone else’s behalf; the applicant must answer legal questions independently and the Board may deny or refuse to renew a license, may suspend or revoke a license, or may impose probationary conditions on a license if the licensee or applicant for licensure has engaged in fraud, deceit or misrepresentation in obtaining or attempting to obtain a license, or the renewal of a license.

Our application process takes place through the NCBDN Gateway. The Gateway provides a single, secure portal for prospective licensees to access all license applications and upload required documentation. Applications are only valid for four months, after which incomplete applications will be canceled.
All licenses issued in a calendar year are issued through March 31st of the following year, regardless of date of issuance. Annual renewal is $95 and renewal applications must be submitted online between January 1st – March 31st of each year.
